Programme

Drie programme, naamlik:

·         Gesinsbeskerming

·         MIV / Vigs

Programmes

Three core programmes namely:

·         Family Preservation

·         HIV/AIDS Education, Awareness and Support

·         Statutory Services (Child Protection)

form the basis of CMR’s activities.   Although each programme addresses a different need they share the common objective of empowering people to reconstruct, build and maintain sound relationships in families and communities.

Beneficiaries of the programmes include women, children, youths, men, people living with HIV/AIDS and the elderly.

Family Preservation:  This programme is aimed at equipping adults and children with appropriate life skills.  In order to provide comprehensive services the Programme incorporates Marriage Guidance and Enrichment, Marriage and Divorce Counseling, Parental Guidance, Adoption Counseling, Life Skills for the Youth and Domestic Violence Counseling.

This programme renders services of a supportive, capacity building and protective nature to those in need.  The main focus of the programme is prevention and empowerment, but intervention also takes place when necessary.  The programme is divided into three categories in order to provide appropriate and effective assistance to children, women and the elderly.  Due to the extreme poverty of the communities served, there is an enormous demand for this Programme.

HIV/AIDS Education, Awareness and Support Programme focuses on:

·         Creating ongoing awareness of the disease through education

·         Providing support services, including home-based care to those infected and affected by the disease.

·         Children abanded and orphaned due to HIV and Aids are placed in substitute care through our Statutory Services Programme.

·         Feeding are provide, where necessary

Child protection Programme (Statutory Services)

The primary objective of our Statutory Services Programme is to protect children, by keeping them safe within placements that will enable them to reach their full potential.  Safety placements of children, children’s court investigations, foster care services, family re-unification services and adoption services also form part of this programme.
